I am interested in creating visual statements of wit and metaphor. I do this by selecting commonplace elements and combining them in subtly surreal images. In the 1970's I used multimedia performance pieces and short films to express this thinking. Now I make collages. The medium and scale have changed, but the thinking has not.

The word as found in my titles, and as found in the connotations of each visual element is very important to me. Many of my collages are quite dependent upon their titles. My sketchbooks are as full of notes, definitions and translations as they are full of drawings.
